The Zionist Federation of Australia is holding its Israel Gap Year Program Fair on the 28th of February in Melbourne and on the 6th March in Sydney. The Fair will be open to all year 11 and year 12 students and their parents with the aim of showcasing the variety of Israel gap programs available to school leavers.
Fair attendees will have the opportunity to meet program organisers, explore the myriad of gap year programs on offer, hear from alumni and learn about the significant funding opportunities available through Masa Israel Journey.
Masa Israel Journey is the umbrella organisation for all long term Israel Programs. It was founded in 2004 by the Government of Israel and the Jewish Agency for Israel with the founding aim that every young Jewish adult between the ages of 18 and 30 should have the opportunity to spend 5-10 months in Israel on a gap year, internship, volunteer, study or special interest program. Twelve years down the track and Masa now represents over 300 programs and provides generous grants and scholarships to participants of its’ programs.
The Zionist Federation of Australia, through its Israel Program Department acts as the local representative for Masa Israel Journey in Australia. The Masa Israel Gap year programs are about tasting independent living, immersing yourself in Jewish and Israeli life and culture, giving back, meeting people from around the world and learning about yourself and others through life changing experiences.
Sarit Braver, the ZFA Israel Program Coordinator says: –
“The Israel Gap Year Fair is an opportunity for students to explore incredible possibilities. Life changing options are available to them after school and this fair will give attendees a chance to truly think about how they are going to make 2017 count.”
With the wide variety of programs on offer whether you are into sport and fitness, music, dance, volunteering, religious study and even permaculture there is a gap year program to suit everyone’s individual needs and wants.
The ZFA invite you to explore the many prospects with a large number of programs bringing out representatives from Israel and if that’s not enough there’s a $500 travel voucher from FBI Travel to be won.
