Bursting the Bubble of the “Two-State Solution”

Since 1920, there have been 24 opportunities when compromise was offered between Arabs and Jews dating from the League of Nations Mandate to the present time.

See: http://www.mythsandfacts.org/Conflict/6/rejectionism.htm

Plan after plan, including patently pro-Arab proposals, were put on the table. And each and every Plan was rejected by the Arab world.

Arab claims that the Israeli “occupation” prevents peace is a lie. It is not “The Occupation” that Arabs reject; it is Israel ‘s right to exist as a Jewish, sovereign and legitimate political entity that they reject..and the West eats it up – hook, line and sinker!

What prevents achieving peace is Arab rejectionism which began in the 1880s when the first Jewish immigrants returned to the land of Israel.

Since the 1920s, long before the establishment of Israel, or the 1967 Six-Day War, Palestinian Arabs have used a combination of diplomatic moves and violence, particularly terrorism against Jewish civilians, and rejected every form of compromise.

The reason is simple.

The crux of the Arab-Israeli conflict (whether the world wants to hear it or not) is the Arab world’s refusal to accept a Jewish political entity in the Middle East.

What we are witnessing today in our streets is the beginning of the 3rd Intifada which is a continuation of that refusal to accept a Jewish state.

Camp David Summit, July 2000: Ehud Barak, Bill Clinton, Yasser Arafat: credit Tablet Magazine

During the summer of 2000, U.S. President Bill Clinton hosted intense peace talks at Camp David between Arafat and Barak, culminating in a comprehensive peace plan. Despite the vast concessions the plan required of Israel, Barak accepted President Clinton’s proposal. Arafat refused, returned home, and launched the Second Intifada.

In 2008, again after extensive talks, Ehud Olmert met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and presented another, even more comprehensive peace plan. Olmert’s plan would have annexed the major Israeli settlements to Israel and in return given equivalent Israeli territory to the Palestinians, and would have divided Jerusalem. It would have created a Palestinian state on 97% of the West Bank.

Again, the offer was rejected.

Why? Because any student of Middle East history knows that hatred of the Jewish presence in the Land of Israel pre-dates “occupation,” pre-dates “settlements,” and pre-dates claims for Palestinian statehood.

Palestinian nationalism has always been tied to the effort to deny Jews sovereignty over any part of their Land. The large number of deadly attacks throughout Israel are a product of the war being waged by Palestinian leadership against the very existence of a Jewish state – a war designed to inculcate in the minds of its younger generation through their media, their glorification of Palestinian murderers of Jews as “martyrs”, their educational system, their sermons from their mosques, their attacks on Jews as “descendants of pigs and monkeys”, their denial of historical Jewish ties to the Land of Israel, all these lies that make their deceitful case that Jews are not entitled to a nation state of their own; that Israel is “occupying” sacred Islamic land, that it intends to undermine the status of the al-Aqsa Mosque/Temple Mount, and that Jews have no history of having ever ruled the Land which (they falsely claim) is, was and will always be Muslim.

As such, the mission of the Palestinians – despite all the international media coverage to the contrary – is to bring about Israel’s destruction.

The Arabs in general and the Palestinians in particular have always been more concerned with destroying the Jewish state than with creating a state of their own.

The core of the conflict was, is and remains their refusal to recognize the nation-state of the Jewish people in any borders whatsoever.

For 1,800 years our People had no state. We had no home! For 1,800 years, we lived through anti-Semitism, persecutions, pogroms, blood libels, Crusades, and the Holocaust.

But we are home at last, and no power on earth will take it away from us.

Never again!!
