A Statement from the ZCNSW President.

Eyal, Gilad and Naftali: May their memories be a blessing.

As night began to fall here in Israel the news that the families of the three kidnapped teenagers, every Israeli citizen and Jews around the world had been dreading was announced.  The bodies of Gil-Ad Shaer, Naftali Frenkel and Eyal Yifrah were found in a wadi near Hevron.

To witness the collective outpouring of grief from every sector of Israeli society, screening on every television channel as I write these words, is overwhelming.  Over the past days since the kidnapping,  the unity of the citizens of Israel and the Jewish people everywhere in support of the three families and the thousands of IDF soldiers involved in the search for the boys has been awe-inspiring.

This culminated in the rally held last night at Kikar Rabin which was attended by over 100,000 people from all sectors of Israeli society.

The Government of Israel holds Hamas responsible for this vile act of terror against teenage civilians and will not rest until the perpetrators have been brought to justice.

The Zionist Council of NSW joins with Jews around the world in calling for the terrorists responsible and their supporters where ever they may be, to feel the full force of Israeli justice.

At this tragic time, may these three brave families be given strength together with all  the citizens of the State of Israel.

May the memories of Gil-Ad, Naftali and Eyal be a blessing.
